About us

Dalton City, Illinois
Rick and I have been married since 1974 and have lived in the family home since 1976 on the farm that the Steele family has farmed and lived since 1914. Rick is my earthly hero and I am his queen. We are kind of attached at the hip. God has blessed us with three children, nine grandchildren, and a grand dog. The purpose for our existence is to bring God, our Redeemer, glory. Life is not about us, but Him. To God be the Glory!

Martha Marianna Steele

In memory of Martha Marianna Steele: Thirty three years ago this week I lost my mother-in-law to cancer.  She was only 60 years old. I had the privilege of being her daughter-in-law for only three short years.  In that time and while Rick and I were dating she taught me so much.  I learned sewing techniques from her, cooking techniques from her. (She made the best pies!!)   She was my model that I wanted to emulate in being a good mother-in-law.  Never did she make me feel like I stole her only son away from her. I always felt accepted, welcome and loved.  She never laughed or made fun of other people’s quirks or behaviors, nor did she talk about others.   Her integrity was impeccable and she instilled those values in her three children.   We had a Naomi, Ruth relationship.  I would have followed her to a foreign country.  Thank you God for the short years that you gave her to me!  Looking forward to seeing her in heaven.

Grateful for the Holy Spirit's convictions

God has been convicting me lately about how ungodly complaining is to Him.  (I know I am a slow learner.)  What do I possibly have to complain about since I am a child of the King?  Philippians 1:27 says "Whatever happens conduct yourself in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Christ."  I am pretty sure that doesn't include complaining.  So I have extended my motto to: "Don't complain, pray, shut up and smile all for God's glory." Thank you God that you continue to sanctify me!  Continue to mold me into Your likeness!
